The Tiels Vocal Ensemble is a leading choir distinguished by its broad and varied repertoire. Under the skilled direction of conductor Ben Middeldorp, the ensemble consistently impresses with performances of high musical quality. Their repertoire includes works by some of the most celebrated contemporary composers, including Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, Bob Chilcott, and John Rutter. These composers are known for their innovative approaches to choral music, which are both challenging and inspiring for singers and listeners alike.    One of the hallmarks of the Tiels Vocal Ensemble is their ability to convey a wide range of musical styles and emotions. Whether it’s the serene sounds of Whitacre's "Lux Aurumque" or the lively melodies of Chilcott's "The Gift to be Simple," the choir always manages to create a deep connection with their audience. Their performances are not only technically impressive but also emotionally resonant, making each performance an unforgettable experience.    The ensemble rehearses on the second, fourth, and, if applicable, the fifth Thursday of the month in Tiel. These regular rehearsals allow the choir to thoroughly prepare for their performances and continually work on refining their sound and technique. The Tiels Vocal Ensemble also regularly welcomes new members. They are currently seeking to strengthen various voice sections, including altos, tenors, and basses. Interested singers are invited to contact them for a voice test.    In addition to their rehearsals and performances, the Tiels Vocal Ensemble has also released several recordings. Their second CD, "In Gentle Tones," features a selection of beautiful choral works, including "Glow" by Eric Whitacre, "Look to the Day" by John Rutter, and "O Magnum Mysterium" by Morten Lauridsen. These recordings showcase not only the choir's technical proficiency but also their ability to capture the emotional essence of each piece.    The Tiels Vocal Ensemble remains committed to bringing high-quality choral music to a broad audience.
