About our choir

Hailing from Rhosllanerchrugog, North Wales, Julie moved to Cyprus 26 years ago to take up the role of Head of Music at the British Forces School in Episkopi. During this time, she founded the Episkopi Military Wives Choir in 2013 and then moved on to set up a community choir in 2015 - and Achord was born!   At the age of 15, Julie obtained her ALCM in Piano Performance. She has travelled Internationally as concert pianist and accompanist and has been involved with choirs and performing from the age of nine. She was awarded a BA(Hons) Music at Anglia University, Cambridge and then a PGCE in Secondary Education at Aberystwyth University.   After teaching classroom music for 31 years, Julie now teaches privately at her home in Paphos whilst being able to give more time to Achord’s development.

Kyriakos is an extremely accomplished musician and pianist who contributes hugely to the success of Achord.   He is passionate about his music and is an extremely valued member of the choir.   Kyriakos provides constant support and encouragement both to the choristers and to Julie, the Musical Director.  Living in Limassol with his wife Anna, he has two beautiful children and teaches piano both privately and at the Heritage School, Limassol.
