Hinsegin kórinn/Reykjavík Queer Choir is Iceland‘s first queer choir and has been active since 2011. It started as a small group of people but has evolved into a group of 70 diverse individuals. From the start the choir has placed an emphasis on being a community – and a family – for all of it’s members as well as being a positive role model and promoting the visibility of queer people.    The choir prides itself in a diverse and ambitious repertoire, performed at (nearly always sold-out) concerts twice a year. In addition the choir sings at various events each year and regularly travels both within Iceland and abroad to perform with other queer choirs and participate in choir festivals.    Helga Margrét Marzellíusardóttir has been the choir's Musical Director since almost the very beginning and in addition to conducting the choir she has also arranged multiple phenomenal pieces for the choir.
